How long has it been since I last reviewed anything? More than a year? That's because I haven't been watching any animes lately. I've been busy with TV series like Game of Thrones and How I Met Your Mother. I have indeed watched some anime and j-dorama last year but haven't finished anything because my sister left for school and the files were on her laptop.
Anyway, I need to exert more effort into making blog posts for this blog. *Taking mental notes* Will have to search for new ones though. And probably have to reacquaint myself with the old ones I haven't finished watching (Naruto Shippuuden, I'm so sorry)
The reason for that is another person as well. :) *Love to blame other people* My boyfriend and I love to watch Naruto together, and when I went home last year, I get envious whenever he watches and I can't. So he stopped as well. Now that I'm back, I have time (and company) to watch it again.
So see you in a few weeks. I hope. And I need to prod my sis to make posts here as well. As far as I remember this is an oneechan shared blog.

Beelzebub: Naked Demon Baby

Can't the baby get some clothes on? Oh, he's been that way from the 1st episode till the last. Oh wait, I haven't watched all the episodes yet. Skipped some I think and haven't finished till the end, but trust me he's always naked as a baby. Oh wait, he is a baby. lol!
This anime's funny. But not something I look forward to watching. It's okay to pass the time with though.
It's about a human delinquent whom the Demon Lord had found to be fitting to raise his son.

It's funny. Here, Beelbo the demon baby was sleep-peeing a river. lol!

Naruto's Parents

The recent last 3 episodes of Naruto Shippuden, namely
247: Target: Nine Tails,
248: The Fourth Hokage's Death Match,
249: Thank You,
were somewhat emotional as we get to meet Naruto's parents.
247: Target: Nine Tails,

Naruto was in the land of lightning training to control the kyuubi with the help of the eighth tail jinchuriki, Bee-sama. While battling with the nine-tailed beast, and almost losing, a lady appeared and helped him take control. In a deeper subconscious (since the battle with the kyuubi is already subconsious), Naruto speaks with the lady and asks about her and what she's doing there.
The same way Minato the Fourth Hokage had shown up in a previous episode to stop Naruto from opening the seal, the lady's chakra was also embedded with the seal that locked the kyuubi within the host.
His mom isn't someone you would expect her to be. We've seen her in some of other ninja's flashbacks, or in pictures. But it's different when you actually saw her in action. She even remarked upon hearing Naruto's weird way of speaking that he got it from her. :D The father's looks and the mother's personality. Who would have thought the serious and glorified Minato would marry someone like her.
But she's no fool. Granted, she's no lady in distress, either. She was even the jinchuriki before Naruto, and her clan was made to be jinchuriki hosts. That was why her help was proven useful at this particular time in Naruto's life, all thanks to Minato.
And another thing. She's Uzumaki. Made me wonder why Naruto didn't take his father's name.
So, you go and watch them now. I've already said too much!

Onegai Teacher
First thing that comes to my mind: Perverted.
Second thing that comes to my mind: It's just so wrong.
Let me explain the second part as the first one is self explanatory.
The story is about a boy who had a relationship with his teacher. She was just a new teacher in that school to begin with, so how she could accept a boy/student after a few days just sends warning signals to my brain.
This anime really did send a lot of signals. Maybe they thought this is a good storyline that no one has done so far. But since it is regarded as immoral for teachers to date student (high school students), they bumped reality a little to make this possible. How? She's an alien! Yep. That way she isn't restricted to the moral norms of Earthlings. What? That isn't enough? Well, he was there when she arrived. He knows the secret. So, to keep him quiet... No, she didn't kill him. She did try to make advances on him, all to no avail (because she is an alien, who would want to do it with an alien even how voluptuous she is?) Well they were caught all by themselves and that led to a string of events that they have to cover up with the excuse of dating - later on, married. (Since school policy doesn't allow dating relationship between teacher and students and she would be fired, they have to say they've been married before she arrived.) Yes, they did get married. Around the third episode? So fast.
But the boy is still a child! Nope. Apparently he has this disease he calls "standstills" where he would eject himself from reality when he gets too sad. He'll be in a near-coma state. His body stops growing as well. So, even when he looks 15, he was actually 18. Ta-da! Problem solved!
Speaking about this "standstills", even though they said it's rare, I do believe that is what usually happens to depressed people. They eject themselves by sleeping all the time. They escape reality that way.
Going back on topic, the ending was a bit confusing. If what happened was a time travelling effect where you wonder (like the chicken and egg question) if the previous events took place before or after. If they affected the future, or if they were the effect of the past. Or if it wasn't actually all that and the events just repeated themselves somehow?
I guess that's just it. They wanted a teacher-student relationship, they couldn't do it, they knitted a bunch of craziness to make it happen. :)
Is this on my recommendation list? No. But it's not on my Don't Watch This List either. It's bearable. You can watch it if you want to.

Naruto Shippuden Movie: The Lost Tower
This 4th movie of Naruto Shippuden just
satisfied my time travelling wants, especially on the issue of Naruto meeting
his dad. Being able to talk to the 4th Hokage, though during that time it
still wasn't bestowed upon him the honor, it felt like we are finally getting
to know him some more. I think we missed the chance to get to know the said
character, what with him being already gone by the beginning of the series. No one
could argue how great this man was, and based on this movie, he was indeed
great, even way before he became Hokage.
We also met in this movie the young Kakashi.
No, it's not new. But what's fun is having Yamato there, and being able to hit
him back for all the ''bullying'' Kakashi has done in the years to come. So
cool! And Kakashi back then is sort of snobbish, so yeah, he deserves it. :)

Hunter X Hunter 2011 Remake
They remade Hunter X Hunter, and I've heard that it is following the old story, which is good because I don't like remakes to be of another story line, or else they should title it fan-fic not remake, right?
Anyway, they say (or hope) that this Hunter X Hunter would have an ending because the original Hunter didn't have one as they've said that the mangaka had passed away during the making of the story.
I have watched the new Hunter. It indeed does have the same story line, so far. It is still up to the 4th episode. They have compacted the story though, because when I watched the original, the story on the fourth is already on the 7th episode.
There are minor changes on the new ones. Like for example in the old anime Leorio took the bus before finding out that it was a trap, so he followed Gon and Kurapica up the mountain where the captain of the ship had advised them to go. In the new anime, Leorio was about to go to the bus when he heard some men gossip that it was a trap that's why he turned around and went with Gon and Kurapica instead. Maybe this is the reason why 7 episodes turned into 4, they have made shortcuts to the story though still keeping the main events.
Four episodes weren't enough for me, that's why I'm now catching up with the old/original Hunter X Hunter. I'd probably write a review in a few weeks. :)
